Happy Birthday MOM! :)

An amazing day in Branson MO today -- beautiful, sunny, and surrounded by people I truly like, even if my family and peeps are back in STL.

Still, I cannot help but feel a complete weirdness and emptiness about the impact of Hurricane Katrina, especially in New Orleans. Watching the pictures on TV, wow. I spend a lot of time there and truly love the city -- our love and prayers go out to anyone involved in this disaster. May God's love overshadow all of you. May God's grace give you comfort, and may the selfless acts of charity and bravery of the rescue workers be a sign of hope for you.

Today, I officially enter into the world of blogging -- and I know where to start --

God Provides
In the last month or so, three of the dudes who have been playing drums with me in various venues left town. Nic Herdler just took off to Arizona to take an intensive Youth Ministry training class, and Tim Barnes and Mike Huelsing headed away to college. Plus Ryan has been really busy with school and work, etc.

Lo, and behold, JR Payne has moved back to St. Louis -- super nice guy with solid chops -- he is gonna play with us St. Clement Life Teen -- and meanwhile John Schweiger is stepping up to help more often at SCL and my old Fire Walk bud Rick turcotte is gonna play every so often.

To be honest, I was never really "worried" -- but praise God who answers prayer and always provides! :)
